Let’s Meet the Characters of TotoLand Learning Channel!
The City of TotoLand:
the city of color, is a small, secluded city surrounded by greenery and bordering the beach. It has colorful buildings, the streets are named after continents and sweets. The main road is called Rainbow avenue named after its colors.
TotoLand offers its residents a wide range of outdoor and indoor activities to keep everyone healthy and happy. At TotoLand, all kids belong.
TotoLand is home to a diverse group of families. They live in TotoLand together peacefully and make efforts to keep their city clean and safe. They welcome people from around the world to explore this beautiful place and feel good.
The Nibbles Family:
Mr. Nibbles
Mr. Nibbles is a Kenyan immigrant, a father of four kids (Ama, Welly, Anya, and Molly), and a brilliant teacher at Toto Elementary School.
His approach is fun, diverse as he embraces learning differences among his students. TotoLand kids enjoy his creativity. Mr. Nibbles rule is that “Learning has no borders and no rules."
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing with his kids.
Mr. Nibbles plays a role that’s primarily not occupied by males in the United States. He hopes to inspire more males to become pre-school teachers.
Dr. Nibbles
Dr. Nibbles is also an immigrant from Kenya. She is a family doctor by profession and a loving mom of four kids; Molly, Ama, Welly, & Anya.
She enjoys her work but loves spending as much time with her family as possible. Dr. Nibbles hopes to inspire girls from around the globe to pursue a career in the medical field.
Ama
Meet Ama-the star of the show!
Ama is a smart, daring, caring, active, yet reserved four-year-old African American girl who enjoys her world of limitless possibilities. She is the second of four children in the Nibbles household and twins with her brother Welly.
She loves to learn, laugh, and do fun activities with her friends and family. She attends Toto Elementary School.
Ama takes on a leading role at TotoLand as a strong minded little girl with a free spirit. A role that is traditionally not populated by female characters in the nursery rhymes industry.
She hopes to make waves and inspire every little girl that watches and follows her journey.
Welly
Welly is Ama’s twin brother. He is the 3rd child in the Nibbles household.
Welly is a fun-loving kid, who enjoys his family’s company, has a caring nature, and enjoys a good laugh. He loves to travel and try new things. He looks up to his twin sister Ama and is very protective of his little sister.
He hopes to make lots of new friends all over the world and share a laugh.
Molly
Molly is Ama’s big brother! The eldest child of the Nibbles household.
He is kind, tender hearted, intelligent, fun to be around and loves his big brother role.
His younger siblings adore him and look up to him. Molly is always excited to discover and learn about new things.
Molly hopes to inspire boys and girls with his curious mind and big brother role.
Anya
Meet Anya! The youngest sibling in Mr. Nibbles’ family. She is a three-year-old toddler with a lot of positive energy.
She is strong-minded, very active, and bold. She’s brave enough to try everything her older siblings are doing.
Giving and receiving hugs is her favorite thing to do. All the kids of Toto Land adore her because of her caring nature and free spirit and stubbornness.
Anya’s main goal is to have fun, fun, and more fun with her peers all over the world.
The Spring Family:
Mr. Spring
Mr. Spring is DD's father. He is a computer programmer.
Computer programming is writing a group of instructions for a computer to process/execute, also called 'coding.' Coding is the process of writing instructions for a computer to follow. It’s kind of like a recipe, but for a computer. The instructions tell the computer what to do and in what order to do it.
Mrs. Spring
Mrs. Spring is DD’s mom and a soldier. She proudly represents all military moms and families while inspiring girls and women across the globe. Deployment can be tough on families.
DD
DD is Ama’s friend and class fellow! DD is a four-year-old boy who is very jovial. Together with his mom and dad, they make a happy family called “The Spring Family."
DD loves to feed his curiosity, he enjoys everything about living in TotoLand city. His friends are like family, he is loving, kind, and fun.
Inspired by his parents, DD can’t wait to share his excitement about his city with all the friends he will make.
The Summer Family:
Mrs. Summer
Ms. Summers is a judge at Totoland. In our society, women judges are few and far between. African American female judges are even fewer. Judge Summers is also a single mother. It is refreshing to see an African American woman who continues to debunk the stereotypes about single mothers and homes with only one parent.
GG
GG is Ama’s friend and class fellow! GG is a four-year-old African American girl.
GG comes from a two-family household. Together with her mom, they make a beautiful family called “The Autumn Family”.
GG is smart, sweet, sociable, and loves to laugh, sing, play, and discover new things with her friends.
GG hopes to make lots of friends to laugh and sing along with.
The Autumn Family:
Mr. Autumn
Mr. Autumn is a veterinarian.
Mrs. Autumn
Mrs . Autumn is an entrepreneur and a stay-at-home mom. Her son Kai is a child with special needs. She’s happy to highlight challenges embraced by families like hers; while educating others on acceptance of those with special needs.
Kai
Kai is Ama’s friend and class fellow! Kai is a four-year-old who is white. Together with his mom and dad, they make the lovely “Autumn family.”
Kai has a free spirit and willfulness to be reckoned with. He is kind, generous, and competitive. Kai enjoys spending time with his friends and adores his parents.
Kai can’t wait to show his friends things he enjoys doing the most and inspire them.
The Winter Family:
Mr. Winter
Mr. Winter is Mia's dad. He is TotoLand's residential firefighter.
Firefighters are trained to control and put out fires. Firefighters must work quickly and as a team to keep fires from spreading. They connect hoses to fire hydrants and operate pumps to power the hoses to help control the fire. They may also need to rescue people who are trapped inside burning buildings.
Mrs. Winter
Mrs. Winter is Mia's mother; they represent the Latin-American community.
As a scientist, Mrs. Winter loves to encourage all the young children to experiment and ask questions. The history of women’s contribution to science carries on with her role as a high-achieving Latin-American woman with a daughter to raise.
Mia
Mia is a Hispanic four-year-old girl full of life. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Winter.
Mia is a funky and sporty four-year-old girl with a sensitive side. She attends Toto elementary with her friends. She loves playing with her friends and kicking it with her mom and dad.
Mia hopes to share her culture with her friends and learn about other cultures as she grows.
